MRAG Bequest

Heading up to Maitland Regional Art Gallery (MRAG) the group enjoyed lunch at the gallery cafe before Michael and Gordon gave a talk explaining the bequest they will give MRAG on their passing.

The show is running until 2nd November for those that could not make it and the gallery has some excellent exhibitions so well worth the visit.

Michael and Gordon told the group how the bequest would operate with an artist receiving funding for a year and then adding to the MRAG collection by creating a major work that is given to the gallery.

The initial 10 artist from the Elliott Eyes Collection are Rick Amor, Robert Fielding, Reko Rennie, Ann Ross, Euan Macleod, James Gleeson, Jess Johnson, Terry Stringer, Clement Meadmore & Michael Zavros.

The group was also given a tour of the MRAG stockroom which was a bonus for our group that Cheryl, Collections Manager offered them.
